With the change of season and most children getting ready to go back to school, we think it’s the perfect time for a good deep clean of your home.

So we teamed up with Clean Living our latest brand to join the Collective, to give you some tips on how to give your home a toxic-free deep clean using their award-winning range.

1. Can you give us some tips to help give the best deep clean?

One of the first things I would do is have a declutter. There may be lots of items that no longer have a purpose and can be disposed of or stored away. For example, colouring books that have been scribbled on completely could be recycled. Maybe one of your kids played a computer game to death in lockdown and have lost interest in it. This could be sold on. Or there may be toys that are seasonal and could be stored away until the next summer holidays. Decluttering in this way will make the cleaning process much quicker, thorough and easier.

2. We love how environmentally friendly your products are. Can you tell us what makes them so eco-friendly?

When we started Clean Living, we wanted to create a company that would help others to clean with conscience©. It’s important to us that we are environmentally responsible, educate people and offer them a less harmful way to clean their homes. The Clean Living logo captures all of these things: a heart, a home and a planet. Our range of cleaning products contain no harsh chemicals, don’t harm aquatic life and reduce single-use plastic waste using a refill-reuse-recycle system. All while cleaning brilliantly and leaving behind a wonderful fragrance.

Everything we do is eco-friendly; from the formulations, how we ship the products to the packaging we use. Our chemists blend 100% plant-based formulas that are supercharged with friendly bacteria. These create enzymes to actively eat away at dirt from deep down in the pores of hard surfaces. We ship our aluminium bottles empty with a sachet of concentrate to avoid shipping water unnecessarily. This makes parcels lighter for the vehicles delivering them, which in turn reduces carbon emissions. These aluminium bottles can be refilled time over to reduce single-use plastic waste. Finally, all of our boxes are custom made to fit around the products perfectly, reducing the need for unnecessary packaging.

3. So tell us more about how the refills work?

Most cleaning products are 99% water mixed with 1% cleaning concentrate. We see no sense in shipping water around unnecessarily, so we ship our aluminium bottles empty with a sachet of concentrate. You simply pour the concentrate into the bottle, top up with tap water, shake and you’re ready to clean! When empty, keep the bottle and simply decant another sachet into the bottle and start again.

4. What makes these products so great in the home with a young family?

Kids are renowned for putting things in their mouths and crawling around on the floor as they develop and explore. If you have covered your surfaces in harsh cleaning chemicals, they will directly absorb them into their bodies. Various studies have linked early development of things like asthma and eczema in children to overexposure of stringent toxins. Also, the air inside our homes is more toxic than outdoors after using traditional synthetic cleaning products. Children are very delicate and susceptible to what we expose them to as they grow, so it’s important to limit what damaging toxins you expose them to.

Our products contain no harsh chemicals like Sodium Hydroxide, Chlorine, Phosphate, Ammonia and Solvents. So you can clean your surfaces, furnishings, bathroom areas etc safe in the knowledge that no nasties will be left behind to harm your little ones.
