Noma Swimwear is an environmentally-conscious swimwear brand for babies and children. By “environmentally-conscious” we mean that we are seeking to be as sustainable and eco-friendly as we can be. To that end, our swimwear fabric is made from 78% regenerated polyamide from ghost fishing nets and other post-consumer waste. By giving an economic value to ghost fishing nets, we are helping to cleanse the oceans of abandoned fishing gear, which injures and kills marine life and is a major part of the ocean plastics crisis. We are also piloting a re-recycling initiative: once you have finished with your Noma Swimwear, please send it back to Noma HQ and we’ll give you a discount code that you can use against future purchases (at www.nomaswimwear.com and the Nurture Collective) and meanwhile we are working with our yarn supplier to turn old swimsuits into new regenerated yarn for yet more swimwear. A circular economy is our aim for our swimwear.
