A button up denim dress for all seasons! Created from soft, handwoven indigo denim, this dress can be worn all year round – just add tights and a top! This versatile dress has attractive red buttons to do it up and two handy pockets to store your treasures.

When your child grows (as they do!) then this dress has a loose fit and can be worn with leggings as a tunic.

Our dress has been created using traditional processes that are naturally kinder to the environment and we only w. It is traceable too so that you and your child can find out how your denim dress was made and get to know some of the people involved.

Hi, I’m Jo Salter, Founder of Where Does It Come From?

I was concerned that the clothes I was buying for myself and my family were not being created ethically, and that I may indirectly be helping to sustain cruel labour practices and contributing to the world’s pollution problems. The Where Does It Come From? strategy has three main goals:

Firstly we work with Social Enterprises to produce our clothing, ensuring that all the workers have pay and working conditions according to fair trade principles. We provide work for cotton farmers, spinners and weavers in co-operatives set up to empower rural women, and small artisan printers, dyers and tailors.

Secondly we focus on protecting our environment. We use low water and carbon processes, non-toxic dyes and organic cotton as we want to have as low a negative impact as possible. We encourage our customers to keep their items longer and pass them on when finished with them. We run a ‘preloved’ shop to support this.

Thirdly, we share the whole story of our garment creation. We hope that these stories will educate and interest – especially the children – and inspire people to shop differently. We believe that having better relationships with our clothes makes us happier too!
